Building a Stew Mac Soprano Ukulele
This blog will chronicle my attempt to build a soprano ukulele from a Stewart MacDonald kit.
The picture shows the Stew Mac kit as it arrives in the post (actually, it was still sealed when it arrived. I opened it for this picture).
I am almost done with the build at this point in time. Yes, I removed all the posts I had already written and there is a valid reason. I experienced serious problems with the build and am reevaluating the entire experience so that I can better share my mistakes in the hopes that no one else will make them.
I am currently on the first day of applying finish to the ukulele today. By next weekend, it will be completed and ready to play.
I will start putting up the re-written post and associated images in the next few days. The entire project, along with images, should be live here by the end of the month.
I will be building the Stew Mac Tenor model next. I plan to start it by the new year (2010). I will chronicle that build in a blog here titled "Ukulele Building 102".
